Glowing Jackets

Postby Big_Tim » Thu Nov 13, 2008 2:16 pm

Since I seem to keep stumbling across all things glowing, has any one tried out this jacket with glowing 'Go-faster' strips down the side?

Sorry to 'Pee' on this one too.....

.....I am aware that the South Wales LSDogs team bought a load of these for their members and won't be buying any more! They found that the battery pack was too heavy (a common problem that we have found whilst trying to work with a manufacturer to create a similar product), this resulted in the coat twisting around the dog and wouldn't stay in place properly.

Well, I'd already ordered one of these jackets when Daryl replied, so I thought I'd get it and have a look anyway and send it back if it was rubbish.
But...
Used it for the first time last night and first impressions are it's really good!! The battery pack is just a bit heavier than 2 aaa batteries (with the batteries in it!) so it's not heavy at all. As long as the straps are done up properly then I don't really see that it would slip around (it didn't move last night at all, other than once when I put a lead on him and it got caught underneath and twisted it around) but I guess we'll see in the long run.
Light wise it gives that 'Auralight glow', although not quite as bright, but I guess that's to be expected since the light strips are only a mm wide or so compared to the 25mm or so Auralight size.
I'll be bringing it along at the next outdoor training session, so all can have a look.
