We have a 12 week old working cocker puppy. She's lovely. most of the time. When ever you play with her. she ignors the toys and just goes for flesh
My wife and I are covered in bite and scratch marks. We have tried yelping loudly and walking away, shouting no, putting toys in the way of flying open jaws even a shake bottle doesn't work! The only way to calm her down is to put her in her crate for time out, which it shouldn't be for.
She had her last jab on Tuesday and we think that part of it could be bordom. Does anyone have any advice to stop this before we look like a couple of abuse cases or self harmers.
Cheers
Rich

Does she do it just when excited? does she only do it when you are trying to get her into engaging in toys?

She seems to do it whenever you are trying to clean her ears, stroke her, play with her, pretty much anything you want to do with her unless she is worn out she will try chewing what ever body part is close to her mouth.
Took her for her 1st walk yesterday and have to say she was much better after she had been out, but as soon has she had recharged the batteries she started again.
I can see us spending a lot of time out running and walking.

OK. Are you members of the team or just visiting the forum? Reason i ask is that it will be much easier to talk about this rather than type it all on here so if you are at training then we can talk there if not then i shall type!!

Richard is a member of the team, but does the same job as me (sucker), just over the border! He actually lives about 2 minutes from me in the car!

Thank you lou. I would be very gratefull for a chat & some advice. He says as Tilly is eating my foot and launching herself at me mouth open ready to chew me to bits.
Our greatest concern is she tries to do it to our 2 year old, so we can't turn our back on them for a second.
