Farewell to rescue dog Sky retrieved from
http://www.getreading.co.uk/news/s/2063731_farewell_to_rescue_dog_skyA “cover girl” which graced the front of Dogs Today magazine and helped in more than 50 search operations around Berkshire has died.
Members of the Bracknell-based Berkshire Search and Rescue said goodbye to Sky, a red and tan Australian Kelpie which had been with the organisation since 2004.
Sky was the cover star of the magazine aged 18 months and had been involved in searches in Bracknell and Ascot.
Her owners, Annette and Tom Sawyer, who live in West Sussex, said: “She became a cover girl at the tender age of 18 months.
“They could not resist her beauty.
“She spent her summer months attending shows, giving demonstrations and going to schools to help nervous children get more trust in dogs.
“All she asked for in return was her favourite squeaky toy.”
