Hello from Nova Scotia!

Sun Dec 19, 2010 4:11 pm

I'm a member of Colchester Ground Search and Rescue in Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada. I've only been a member for a year and a half but love it! I'm really interested in K9 Training but I'm worried that my dog, Kes (Golden Retriever/Labrador Mix), is too old at the age of 2 1/2 years. What do you guys/girls think?

Thanks in advance.

I don't suppose there is going to be much sympathy from a Canadian that the UK has near enough shut down due to the snow. [tongue2]

My Dog didn't start till she was 3 and I think they need to get the silly puppiness out of their system too.

I think this is true before the puppy/dog is anywhere close to ready for assessment, however I don't think you need to get the puppiness out of them before starting training. In fact I think Echo's puppy enthusiasm has helped us massively with her focus and scenting ability.
