Hello and thanks for the warm welcome especially from Lou and Mel on Tuesday evening. My son Ross and I attended our intro session and were fascinated to find out more about what goes on at Berkshire SAR Dogs. Looking forward to coming back next week (no, Lou, you didn't frighten me away!!)... doing lots of reading and research, and hoping we haven't bitten off more than we can chew!!! See you soon. Hello and thanks for all the 'welcomes'!

Yes, Pol, we do have a 4-legged friend - a 4-year-old English Springer Spaniel called Poppy. She's been 'finding' Ross in the woods and fields since she was about 5 months old so she's really good at it now and even locates him if he's 15 feet up a tree!! She also enjoys searching for tiny morsels of food around the garden and out on walks but I guess looking for a complete stranger must take more skill!! Hopefully it's just a case of getting used to it and lots of practice! She enjoys tennis balls but her great joy in life is carrying a stick out on walks - she carefully selects one and carries it diligently - sometimes she trades them in for a replacement but usually she carries them all the way home - once one even weighed nearly 3kg and she carried it for over 2 miles! Saves me purchasing firewood in the winter - we build up quite a collection over a period of weeks!! I tried attaching a photo but it wouldn't work so perhaps someone can let me know if there's a particular format I should use?!

Looking forward to meeting more of you next Tuesday, meanwhile have a good w/e!
