Handler Support Course

Hi,

I was just wondering was there any courses available that anyone know's about for Handler/Dog Support?

You have probably gathered, my knowledge of dogs isn't fantastic, although it's sooo much better than prior to joining the forum. But I am struggling with how to support a handler whilst on a search. The info I've looked at refers to the handler, although for Support member's there seems to be very little info indeed.

We are indeed running a course soon.

I am not sure how much use it will be to you as the core syllabus is the ALSAR SAR Tech course with a few dog handler bits added on for good measure. The reason behind this is so that our members can search on foot should the areas not be K9 suitable.

We are in the process of creating a K9 SAR Team Leader course. This would have a similar syallabus as the ALSAR TL course for the same reason mentioned previuosly, but will also include in depth scent theory etc.
