Sorry for the delay, been struggling to come up with anything!! I've delved back into my childhood memory banks for this one (and have checked it online since my childhood was a long time ago [laugh] ) I used to love trotting this one out as a youngster .....

What is the longest word to appear in a major english dictionary - and I want it spelled correctly!!!!!

The word I have in mind is "generally accepted" as the longest English word - there are a couple of longer words but they are made up words that have appeared in literature or are technical/scientific words.

Over to you lot!

The only one I can think of is Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (think the spelling right)
and seeing you had to check back to your childhood memory banks, i reckon it's a good guess

Nope, JB - this is the "longest non-coined and non-technical" word, but not the Longest to appear in the dictionary! [laugh]
