Question:What is the origin of hanging decorations on Christmas trees?

It was around the early part of the 16th Century and someone decorated a fir tree with candles. This symbolised to the children how the star's twinkle throughout the dark nights.

I think it was Martin Luther???

This wasn't the first origin, it goes back much further than this!

People decorated trees as they believed that when the leaves fell off the spirits would leave the trees and they would die, so by decorating them over the winter the spirits stayed in the trees keeping them alive until the leaves retuned.
