Ok then here's a tricky one for you:

What are the differences between how a 'tracking' dog and a 'trailing' dog work i.e. What do they specifically look for and where?

:?:

Tracking dogs look for human scent on the groun, footprint by footprint.
Trailing dogs use a mixture of ground and air scent, not only from the human but also from vegitation disturbance etc as well.

I thought it was basically as Daryl said but it is the TRACKING dogs that look for disturbed vegetation and scent from broken blades of grass etc.

If you ever thought your dog can't count, try putting 3 dog biscuits in your pocket and only giving him 2!!!
