About 10% more. Just did a qoute at tesco at £12.69 per month for Milo. Not read the small print yet.

Being in the industry and role I am in, I will choose to ignore all talk of defrauding insurance companies. But I do warn you that alot of underwriters are going to great depths at the moment to catch fraud, and if you are caught, you will be blacklisted with that underwriter, which as someone else pointed out, that means alot of so called Insurance Companies will refuse you policies as ultimatelly they underwritten by the same underwriter. Additionally, the industry in general is starting to work alot closer together, which means that once you are blacklisted with one, you added onto a national fraud database and all others then have visibility and will either hike your premium as you a higher risk or refuse you a policy totally, and this then snow balls across all products and some of our systems are linking in with our financial instituitons so could start affecting your mortgage applications etc etc
As an example, if you are caught defrauding us, you will not be able to get any product from us going forward, no car insurance, no home insurance, no pet insurance, etc etc etc. Never mind the fact that we open criminal charges against everyone who we can prove beyond reasonable doubt have attempted fraud against us. As an example, one of our systems checks that the amount of claims you specify when getting a motor insurance quote is infact correct, and this is done across all insurance companies in the UK in real time, so even if your quote was not with us as the underwriter, we still know about it. 
I have started a conversation at work about a specialist volunteer SAR type product for Public Liability, Personal Injury and Pet care with the Product Director for the UK. Unfortunatelly some major restructoring going on the moment so is taking a little longer than perhaps it would have, but will see if anything comes of it. Even if we wont do it direct, there is a possibility we may be able to organise it through a broker and just underwrite the risk. Will see how it goes and let Daryl know if I manage to make any progress, I think I have put a fairly decent proposal forward (good cover, limits, price, etc) so lets hope

I had Tesco insurance for Chewy - they were really good, paid out promptly etc BUT you do need to read the small print - normmally for that price there'll be a low payout limit and conditions probably only covered up to a year which isn't any good with long term problems.

payout limit is £4000 for any 1 condition, time unlimited on the extra cover option

You also need to watch the age limit - I changed Murphy to NFU when he was six years old, as Pet Health Care Services stopped covering him for veterinary fees at 7 - it is often as they get older they require treatment - in the last year (he is now 9.5) I have claimed a total of £600 in vet fees - £450 for investigations, drugs, x rays etc for a recurrent infection and £150 for emergency surgery to remove a piece of dog biscuit which went into his larynx and which by the time I got him to the surgery, was starting to suffocate him - very distressing to watch, which is why I will never use balls as rewards for GSDs.
Following Murphy's incident with the dog biscuit I am pleased to see the proposed challenge for the fastest eater seems to have been forgotten - it was his greed that caused this incident!

My insurance company AXA states "working or professional" dogs are excluded.
I struggle to see that a volunteer SAR dog is either of those.

Roland - I would check as that is normally the clause they use to exclude you!

An update from Animal Friends with whom I insure W+B.
" Unfortunately, we would be unable to offer your Labradors any insurance if you train them to be search and rescue dogs, as they would be classed as working dogs, and we don’t cover any form of working dogI'm very sorry about this"

Both of mine are insured with AFI, Pepsi has a clause written in that she it not covered for Public Liability while doing SAR but is covered for injury
