It's not that I don't want to join a mountain rescue team but I really want to do search and rescue work with my dog ultimately as dog training and working with dogs is my passion. My local mrt is Bowland-Pennine, and they recruit new members once a year in October, and then you need to do a minimum of two years before you can apply to Sarda to do your dog training.
I have found that the LS dogs members are not mrt first and wondered whether we had anything like this in Lancashire or do the dog handlers from the mrt do the lowland searching as well? Can a LS dogs unit be set up where there is already an mrt?
