Hi Daz

I have been using that website for some ideas and then being going to the manufacturers for better deals.

Picking upon the Falcon bells reference does anyone know details of a supplier please? As to torches we use hand (mags) and head torches but there are some who dislike the head torches as folks can forget and shine them in your face destroying your night vision for a while. Deb (Norfolk)

Drop Jonb from Berkshire Search & Rescue Dogs a PM as he is our Equipment co-ordinaor and should be able to help you.

Ive just ordered a fenix high power LED torch, which allegedgely performs better that the streamlight, or even the worlds longest maglite, and it does so off 2 x AA's and costs less than £40.

Ill fill you in when I have it in my grubby little paws tomorrow. [ninja]

I have this one

http://www.case-market.co.uk/peli-2220-versabrite-iii-led-251-p.asp

and it's great, very bright for two LED, you'll find it cheaper on ebay than on that website Tony.
I'll show you it tuesday

We looked at Peli Torches but the number of Lumens and battery life wasn't as good as the Torch that Jon has found.

Lakes use Streamlights too (we downgraded our bulbs to give us more battery time) - but I am waiting for the new Petzl Ultra headtorch to come on stream - this is some fantastic piece of kit and may negate the use of a handheld!!

Have a look at the link - http://www.petzl.com/ultra

I do like the look of the Petzl, especially the battery setup. Very handy for long night searches.

I do still have reservations about head torches in general as there is that tendancy to look straight at team members or the misper and unintentionally blind them. A small one does make map reading easier though
