No more guesses, so Michael wins.
The answer is Mount Wai'ale'ale, Waimea Canyon on the island of Kauai, Hawaii.
The pictures below show the sign which says "The wettest spot on earth. Annual average rainfall 451 inches. Elevation 5148 feet", and in the bottom picture, the actual spot which is somewhere underneath the low cloud cover over the trees in the distance.

Michael (Trackerdog) was called out earlier this evening and asked me to post his question for him if he won:
I am a lake and 190 metres deep. I am said to be the deepest lake located in the Southern Hemisphere.
What is my name and where am I located?

Sorry Darren, you are not correct according to the scientists.
I will give a clue and the reason for the clue. Lake Tanganyika borders and empties into two hemishperes, the Northern and Southern. This other lake is situated only in the southern hemisphere.
