A fire service search team with specially trained dogs had to be called in after a wall collapsed in Dorset.

Thermal imaging cameras were used to scan the pile of rubble from the wall which is thought to have given way because of a leaking water main.

An Urban Search and Rescue team confirmed nobody had been trapped by the collapse at 1440 GMT in Weymouth.

They were called after water company workers reported hearing several voices just before it collapsed.

Keith Bacon, Dorset Fire Service area manager, said "no-one could be sure there weren't people trapped inside".

Thermal imaging cameras and sound devices in addition to dogs were needed "to ensure that no-one was under the large pile of rubble".
